Erin Bastow

MS, LPC, NCC

Erin Bastow, MS, LPC, NCC is an EMDR approved consultant. She is also the Clinical Director at Harborcreek Youth Services in Erie, PA. Harborcreek is primarily a psychiatric residential treatment facility for adolescents and also offers community based Multisystemic Therapy (MST). Erin developed and continues to provide a weekly expressive writing therapy group at Harborcreek and has been doing so since 2009. In 2019, the Western New York Regional EMDR Network awarded Erin the “Pioneer Award” for her work to integrate expressive writing with EMDR therapy. Erin has presented on the benefits of expressive writing in many conference and training formats including the keynote address at the 2019 Poetry Therapy Conference, a conference provided by the Erie County Poet Laureate Project. In addition to expressive writing, Erin has presented on topics including ethics, treating complex trauma, and self-care for professional helpers. Previous publications include co-authoring an article on reflective inquiry in counselor education.


Erin serves on the advisory boards for the Gannon University Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and the Elizabeth Lee Black School of the Barber National Institute, an approved private school for children with disabilities. She is also a member of the board of directors for Camp Notre Dame, a children’s summer camp and retreat location in Fairview, PA.


When she’s not doing clinical work, Erin enjoys hiking and visiting National Parks, gardening, attending various sporting events, as well as reading and doing her own writing.
